![]() About two years ago a complete recording was released by Philips, conducted by Colin Davis and using principals from the Covent Garden cast. The opera may be a stranger to the American lyric theater, but that does not mean the music is unfamiliar. The Opera Company of Boston will present Part of the monumental opera-“La Prise de Trole”on Thursday, and the next night will complete the work with “Les Troyens a Carthage.” Then, on Sunday, both parts will be given: Part I in the afternoon, Part II in the evening. FINALLY it comes-the first American staged performance of Hector Berlioz's “Les Troyens” in its entirety (previous productions, such as the one by the San Francisco Opera, were abridged).
